Tattoo Laser Removal

Here are some common questions and information about our newest service!

How does it work?

The laser delivers quick pulses of high-intensity light onto your tattoo. The zapping shatters the large tattoo ink particles that are embedded in the spaces between your skin cells. Your body’s response is having white blood cells eat up the newly broken down tattoo ink (which is now small enough to move through your lymphatic system) From there your body will pass it whenever you use the washroom!

Does laser removal hurt?

Everyone has different pain tolerances but yes, there is some pain and discomfort. It’s often described as snapping rubber bands against your skin or similar to laser hair removal. Treatments are often short (less than 20 minutes) and we use a cooling machine to help numb the area before, during and after to make it as comfortable as possible. The Revlite laser pulse is so quick it’s able to dissolve the ink without destroying the tissue in the process. Think of running your hand over a candle very quickly, there is not enough time to burn the skin. Redness, swelling, blistering, and scabbing may follow tattoo removal laser treatments. But our laser technology combined with proper aftercare ensures that there will be no scarring.

How long does it take to remove a tattoo?

On average it takes roughly 10-12 treatments to remove the tattoo, however there are always other factors that can speed up/ slow down the process. Your lifestyle also plays a role in recovering such as eating habits, exercise routines, if you smoke cigarettes…etc. Most tattoos will take on average 1 - 2 years to fully remove. This sounds like a long time but keep in mind treatments are done 8-12 weeks apart. Another option is to lighten the tattoo enough to cover it with a new one, which could be done in 2-6 treatments. Everyone’s skin and body are different. Depending on factors like what type of ink the artist used sometimes results can weeks or even months before you start to notice a difference. Removal is a lengthy process and it’s best to be realistic with your expectations.

How much does tattoo removal cost?

We believe in making treatments affordable for everyone. We charge a flat rate and there are no hidden costs or fees.
Sessions are $200 (plus tax). With a maximum size per session is 6x6 anything more could be too stressfull on body.

If you have any racist or gang tattoos you want removed, we will remove them for free. Please send us an email and attach a photo to lunainklimited@gmail.com

For large tattoos (sleeves, full chest, back pieces..etc)
Large areas will be broken into sections and treated in separate sessions to avoid damaging the skin and overwhelming the body’s lymphatic system. This will improve results and improve ink digestion. Any tattoo that wraps around needs to be in sessions to avoid circulation issues to the area.

Arm Sleeve: 4-6 sections depending on size & ink saturation (front/back forearm & front/back bicep)
Lower leg sleeve: 2-4 sections depending on size and ink saturation (shin & calf)
Upper leg: 2-4 sections depending on size and ink saturation (front/back thigh)
Full chest piece: 2-4 sections depending on size and ink saturation (upper/lower left, upper/lower right)
Full back: 4-6 sections depending on size and ink saturation (upper/mid/lower left & upper/mid/lower right)

How long do I wait between treatments?

We recommend waiting 8-12weeks between sessions to allow your body to recover. Please keep in mind we recommend staying out of the sun and no swimming for 10 days after your treatment so if you’re a summer/beach lover we can always wait a bit longer between sessions.

Tips before your appointment!

- Drink lots of water and eat a meal
- Before arriving do not apply any lotions, make ups, tanners, sunscreen ….etc
- Avoid the sun/ if your skin is sunburnt we are unable to provide a treatment until it’s healed
- Avoid taking aspirin, certain anti-inflammatory drugs, and some herbal medications that can cause increased bleeding
- Do not use any kind of numbing cream as it can interfere and slow down the process
- Be positive, you’ll be one step closer to never seeing that tattoo again!
